Lead Engineer

The Lead Engineer will own the technical function end to end: design, procurement specification, construction supervision, commissioning and long-term operation of every plant in the portfolio. The role reports directly to the Principal and will build and lead the local engineering and O&M team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Size and design hybrid mini-grids: PV arrays, high-voltage battery banks, three-phase hybrid inverters (Deve-class, 50 kW in parallel), gensets and distribution.
• Produce load studies, single-line diagrams, BOQs and technical specifications for tenders and investor due diligence.
• Supervise EPC contractors on site; enforce quality, safety and commissioning standards.
• Deploy prepaid smart metering, remote monitoring and performance reporting across all sites.
• Run O&M: uptime targets, preventive maintenance; spares strategy and battery lifecycle management.
• Support regulatory filings, grant applications and lender technical reviews.
• Recruit, train and lead Nigerian engineers and technicians.
