Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at our Mabela, Seeb office. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive, end-to-end experience in quantity surveying — from tendering to final measurement — specifically within infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, dams, proven local market experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings and specifications
Study, process, and prepare tender documents, including tender analysis and comparison
Carry out quantity take-offs and cost estimation for infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, dams, and civil/general infrastructure works)
Prepare and evaluate contractor/subcontractor quotations and bids
Handle interim payment certificates (IPCs), valuations, and final account preparation
Prepare and process variation orders (VOs) and claims
Conduct measurement and valuation of work executed on-site
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and consultants to track project progress and cost control
Monitor project budgets and highlight cost variances
Liaise with clients, consultants, and subcontractors on commercial and contractual matters
Maintain proper documentation and records for audits and project close-out
Ensure compliance with contract terms, conditions, and specifications
Travel to project/construction sites as required, using own driving skills
Key Requirements
Minimum [X] years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, specifically in road, bridge, dam, and infrastructure projects
Strong, hands-on knowledge of BOQ preparation from A to Z
Proven experience in tender document processing and tender evaluation
Solid understanding of contract administration, claims, and variation orders
Must be able to drive independently (valid driving license required) for site visits
Currently based in Oman, with a strong understanding of the local construction market, suppliers, and regulations
Proficiency in QS software (e.g., CostX, Candy, or similar) and MS Excel
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
Bachelor's degree/diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
Valid Oman driving license (mandatory) Eligibility
