Job Descriptions


Marine service technician:


  • Repair and maintain inboard & outboard marine engines (Diesel & Petrol)
  • Maintain a high level of service in a timely fashion.
  • Able to repair engines issues & gearbox issues, assembly, accessory installation, and computer diagnostics.
  • Maintain proper documentation on all work performed.
  • Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor.
  • Mechanical & Electrical troubleshooting knowledge required.
  • Installation of marine engines and engines accessories (power steering …….)
  • Knowledge of boat equipment required.


Fishing Boat Captain:


  • The Ship or Boat Captain job means that they are responsible for the safe operation of their vessel and must ensure that it is operated and crewed according to both company and legal guidelines.
  • He must investigate any damage to the vessel, personal injuries of crew and the environmental effects of the vessel; this includes monitoring any pollution and checking for oil spills around the vessel  and at ports and harbours. As a Ship or Boat Captain health and safety is a priority.
  • He must maintain all on-board equipment, including machinery, engines and safety equipment with regular inspection.
  • The Ship or Boat Captain must navigate vessels using maps, radars and lights by the use of electronic devices and the following of contour lines.
  • Monitor daily progress of the vessel, observing speed, engine pressure and water depths, and signalling any passing ships is a key part of a Ship or Boat Captain’s role.
  • He must adhere to any budgets and the purchasing and loading of fuel, supplies and equipment is your responsibility,
  • The Ship or Boat Captain must also maintain full knowledge of the cargo carried by the vessel and answer any queries from customs officials.
  • The Ship or Boat Captain must conduct his crew in their tasks, monitoring the performance of licence and unlicensed crew. If applicable
  • Other responsibilities will be provided by the head of department.


Fiberglass and Gel coat technician:

  • Identify defects such as: cracks, blisters, stress fractures and cosmetic flaws.
  • Estimate repair times, plan for materials, coordinate jobs with management.
  • Grind out defective areas, smooth rough edges/areas by using appropriate power or hand-tools.
  • Prep fibreglass, resins, and damaged areas for repair, lamination.
  • Shape and smooth edges to match contour properly.
  • Mix Gel coat catalyst and spray repaired surfaces, match colours.
  • Buff and polish repaired surfaces.
  • Overtime, nights, and weekend work may be required as customer service needs fluctuate.


Marine service electrician

  • Design, install, diagnose problems, and service electrical equipment and components.
  • Repair and maintain normal and emergency power distribution switchboards, electrical
    generators, and all other shipboard power distribution components.
  • Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical & hydraulic devices or systems.
  • Repair and rebuild electric motors and controllers.
  • Install, tune, and maintain two-way radio equipment (marine and mobile), sound powered phones, and radar equipment.
  • Install or repair shipboard phones, GPS, depth finders, gyro compasses and Entertainment system. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and assist other skilled employees in their craft.
  • Must be able to install marine wiring in a neat and safe manner.
