PTW/Lead Worker (Salary: 2000 QAR + OT)
Role Overview : Coordinate and lead safe execution of work under the Permit to Work (PTW) system during shutdown. Act as the primary point for job safety, compliance, and team leadership on site.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage PTW issuance, review, and closure for tasks like hot work, confined space entry, lifting, and isolation.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Task Risk Assessments (TRA), and pre-job briefings.
- Ensure compliance with PTW conditions, LOTO procedures, SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operations), and safety protocols.
- Monitor workforce, report violations, and coordinate with area authorities.
- Lead toolbox talks and ensure all workers understand hazards and controls.
Requirements :
- Minimum 5+ years in oil & gas (shutdown/turnaround preferred).
- Strong knowledge of PTW systems (QatarEnergy or similar GCC clients).
- Relevant certifications: H2S, Confined Space, BOSIET (if offshore), PTW training.
- Gulf experience mandatory; leadership skills essential.
Mechanical Fitter (Salary: 1400 QAR + OT)
Role Overview : Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installations on static equipment, piping, valves, and machinery during shutdown.
Key Responsibilities :
- Disassemble, inspect, repair/replace, and reassemble pumps, valves, exchangers, bundles, compressors, and piping systems.
- Carry out alignment, gasket replacement, hydro/pneumatic testing, and reinstatement.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform overhauls, and ensure quality workmanship.
- Work under PTW controls, follow method statements, and maintain tools/equipment.
- Collaborate with riggers, supervisors, and QC for safe execution.
Requirements :
- 5+ years as Mechanical Fitter in oil & gas shutdowns/maintenance.
- Experience with refinery/gas plant equipment; Gulf shutdown exposure preferred.
- Trade certification/Diploma in Mechanical Fitting; welding knowledge a plus.
- Must be physically fit for heavy lifting and confined space work.
Rigger (3rd Party Certified) (Salary: 1300 QAR + OT)
Role Overview : Handle rigging and lifting operations safely during shutdown, ensuring heavy equipment and materials are moved without incidents.
Key Responsibilities :
- Rig loads for cranes/lifting (e.g., exchangers, valves, bundles).
- Inspect rigging gear, slings, shackles; calculate load weights and angles.
- Signal crane operators and ensure safe lifting paths.
- Work in confined spaces/heights; follow lifting plans and PTW.
- Maintain rigging equipment and report defects.
Requirements :
- 5+ years rigging experience in oil & gas shutdowns.
- Valid 3rd party certification (e.g., LEEA, OPITO, or equivalent).
- Gulf experience essential; knowledge of heavy lifts in plants.
Hole Watch (Salary: 1600 QAR + OT)
Role Overview : Monitor confined space entries to protect entrants and ensure safe conditions during shutdown work.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain constant communication with entrants; track entry/exit via sign-in/out log.
- Monitor air quality (gas detectors for O2, LEL, H2S, toxins); ventilate spaces.
- Prevent unauthorized entry; alert rescue teams in emergencies (do not enter to rescue).
- Ensure PPE, rescue gear, and emergency response readiness.
- Enforce PTW conditions for confined space work.
Requirements :
- Experience as Hole/Safety Attendant in oil & gas confined space entries.
- Confined space training/certification; gas testing knowledge.
- Gulf shutdown experience preferred.
Fire Watch (Salary: 1200 QAR + OT)
Role Overview : Prevent and respond to fire hazards during hot work (welding, cutting, grinding) in shutdown.
Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor hot work areas for sparks, smoldering, or fire risks.
- Keep fire extinguishers ready; remove/ cover combustibles.
- Conduct fire watches post-hot work (e.g., 30-60 mins or longer).
- Sound alarms, extinguish small fires if safe, and call emergency response.
- Ensure gas monitoring and PTW compliance for hot work.
Requirements :
- Experience in fire/hole watch during oil & gas shutdowns.
- Fire watch/hot work training; basic firefighting knowledge.
- Alertness and quick response skills.
Supervisor Mechanical (Salary: 4000-5000 QAR)
Role Overview : Supervise mechanical teams during shutdown, ensuring safe, timely, and quality execution of maintenance.
Key Responsibilities :
- Plan and assign tasks to fitters, riggers, and technicians.
- Oversee mechanical repairs, inspections, testing, and reinstatement.
- Coordinate with PTW coordinators, safety, and other disciplines.
- Monitor progress, quality, and safety; report to client/project leads.
- Manage toolbox talks, risk assessments, and team performance.
Requirements :
- 8-10+ years in oil & gas mechanical supervision, with 5+ in shutdowns.
- Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Strong leadership, Gulf experience (Qatar preferred), and PTW familiarity.
- Salary reflects supervisory level (higher than tech roles).
