A Substation Electrician installs, maintains, tests, and repairs high-voltage electrical equipment (transformers, breakers, relays) to ensure grid reliability, reading schematics, troubleshooting faults, performing maintenance (oil sampling, cleaning), responding to emergencies, and meticulously documenting work, all while adhering strictly to safety protocols like Lockout/Tagout. They work with SCADA systems, control rooms, and often participate in on-call rotations, requiring strong electrical knowledge, problem-solving, and teamwork.
